Antecedents of Behavioural Intention to Adopt Internet Banking Using Structural Equation Modelling

Technology is emerging as an important banking mode for customers, and although almost all the banks in India are offering Internet Banking, faces problems related to digital divide, e-frauds, high rates of interest, amongst other things. This causing concern banks, which trying persuade people adopt their online services. Therefore, aim with this study determine antecedents behavioural intentions e-banking economy such India. We did by administering a questionnaire 34 questions nine constructs participants responded using Likert scale 1 5, being strongly disagree 5 agree. All used were adapted from literature e-banking. received 436 valid responses, we analysed Cronbach’s alpha, Confirmatory Factor Analysis, Structural Equation Modelling. Results show that Performance Expectancy, Hedonic Motivation, Experience, Habit Attitude, Perceived Website Usability, Security Reliability positively influence intention suggesting policymakers bankers should focus on improving website usability hedonic enjoyment while focusing Banking performance, security, dependability. In addition, Effort Expectations, Social Influence, Facilitating Conditions, Trust resulted not significant influencing factors usage; Indians appear find straightforward use, perceive it breeze, believe they backed solid support systems organisational infrastructures. Moreover, trust driving factor because already trustworthy exercise.
